Quckest route to Santa Rosa from San Francisco Airport? |
Travel Info What is the best route to take? Travel Tips Hi, I take it you are driving?? If do from SFO take 101 North for a very short distance. On the right take the 380 interchange, this is another short road. stay in the middle lanes and you will enter 280 North toward San Francisco. Again stay in one of the left three lanes. Now you will start to see the Golden Gate Bridge signs stay in the one of the left three lanes. You will now enter the traffic zone and 19th Ave. Sorry but this is San Francisco. Stay on 19th ave. all the way through Golden Gate Park. As you approach Golden Gate Park avoid the left lane it will turn into a left turn lane only in the Park. As you exit the park you will be on your way to the Golden Gate Bridge and North 101. Once on the bridge you are now headed in the right direction. The drive will take you about 90 minutes at a low traffic time, at rush hour you will spend a great deal of time in slow traffic. Others Straight up 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge. 101 dumps you in the city and you need to take Van Ness Blvd. to Lombard. You can also take 280 and go straight down 19th Ave. to the Golden Gate and 101, but that could be more confusing for you. I wouldn't suggest driving the route, rather try using the Santa Rosa airport express bus! It's fast and reasonably priced! The buses are clean and travel directly to the various airline terminals from Santa Rosa. If you ever have just a little more time to make the trip to the airport, you can really save money by using Golden Gate Transit into SF and taking BART or SamTrans from SF to the airport. If you are in a hurry however, try the airport express. Anything is better than driving that route! take 101 to 380 then up 1 which is 19th avenue through the west side of the city , cross the GG Bridge and on up 101 about an hour and 45 mins if it isnt at 4pm or so. There is an ' Airporter' bus that can take you there from SFO directly. 101 south 19th avenue south 280 south 380 east |
