Travel Info Where to camp in california? Travel Tips Too many places - depending on your preference for the mountains, lakes, deserts or the coasts. Most state parks have campsites as well as some regional or county operated sites. Best thing to do is decide on the locale and then search with google. Others I remember when I was little, I would camp with my mom and dad at a place called Big Bear. I don't know if its still there, but I suspect so. I don't remember where it is because I was so young. But I do remember that I had a lot of fun there, and I met a lot of people. I think you should look Big Bear up and figure out where it is and go there! Its loads of fun!
