Travel Info Whats the best san fran tour for the money? There are tons of tours listed on google? Travel Tips the one where you walk and do things on your own Others It really depends what you want to see. I don't mean to sound flippant, but there ya go. Are you interested in the general tourist sites? Neighborhoods? A tour of celebrity homes? A bicycle rickshaw tour of the bay coast? One that I see a lot is the motorized cable car tours. They can be fun, especially since you're not locked inside a vehicle. They can also be cold, so dress warmly. Honestly? Don't take these tours. Go on craigslist.org if you don't know the site. You could find someone to do it for free, or a small fee. Especially if you ask students. I know I've done it. Most of San Francisco can be done on public transit and on foot. If you want to do the larger SF Bay area, you can use BART (subway system), and cars if you want to visit napa. You can consider chartering a small plane from oakland, it's actually quite cheap (I've done it for $200) - and the view from the air is breathtaking. You can also do a bay tour, fly over the golden gate at sunset... that's just unbelievable. I can refer you to my pilot if you want to do that healthusa@columnist.com. Good luck and have fun! I studied at UC Berkeley and never left... it's an amazing area. Alcatraz.. Very interesting ME honestly, do an alcatraz tour and a walking tour. Walking is probably the best way to do things in SF. born and raised in SF |
