Travel Tips Mission Bay station in Downtown San Francisco is used for commuter trains only. Unless you're heading for San Jose or Gilroy, do not head for that station. All long-haul Amtrak trains, including to Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, and L.A., leave from Emeryville Station in the East Bay. To get there from SFO airport... take the subway (BART) all the way to MacArthur station ($5.50). The Emery-Go-Round shuttle bus will get you to Emeryville station.
