Travel Tips
Desert camping can be done year round in many places. The deserts are often quite windy, and in the winter, the "high" deserts are very cold, and sometimes have snow. Much of the desert areas are the property of various government agencies so make sure you are camping in authorized areas.

I don't know, I've never camped in a dessert. I think they would be too tiny and gooey and I wouldn't fit. Desserts are usually something I eat.
Over five years living in the desert east of San Diego....bring lots of H2o whether you like drinking it or not, something for shade (tarp, poles) cause the sun seems to stay up forever, It can be 110 during the day and go down to 40-60 degrees at night depending on the time of year so sweatshirt just in case, and the desert can be unbelievably humid (yeah, sounds strange but true) so wear breathable clothes or you will regret it... and in most areas don't expect your cell phone/GPS to work so either have a map or know where you are going....good luck! PS hats are good!
