Does anyone live in SAN MATEO California? |
Travel Info I was wondering how it was? whats the cost of living like? is it generally safe? is it diverse and do people get along? are people pretty cool? Thanks! Travel Tips I lived 10mins north of San Mateo for 12 yrs (until 2006). I went there pretty often to shop & dine. It's generally quite safe and people there are friendly. San Mateo is a diverse city with different ethnicity. Cost of living is high, but it's the same everywhere in the bay area. Although, rentals still could be affordable. Check craigslist.com. It wasn't too expensive then, you could still find homes on the flats. Hillsdale (a suburb of San Mateo, I guess) was a bit pricey, my folks live there. Now their home is worth more than a million and the median price in San Mateo his in the $800K's. It is generally safe. People get along. Cool? Hey, it's the burbs man. Cool is the outer Richmond or Sunset in San Francisco, or better still, the Haight Ashbury. no, they all moved... |
