Downtown near union square will be convenient. If you will have a car, you may want to check hotels on El Camino in San Bruno or Millbrae which is close to SFO. Others have you considered of trying to search on google for a list with the bestest hotels from san francisco? :) when i went there we stayed at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel its close to the pier and chinatown and union square The hotels around Union Square are good for access to public transportation and shopping; also, they're a bit pricey. To save the most money, look at the motels along Lombard Street near the GG Bridge. the drake is old fashioned but good. I used to stay at the hotel Nikko I stayed at Sir Francis Drake. Its on Union Square. Easy access to public transport. Nice place. I just got back a weekend trip there. We stayed at the Miyako in Japan Town. It was nice. Couple blocks from Fillmore where the best restaurants are. If you can..make it to the Citrus Club on Haight and Ashbury. the best asain food around. AND not expensive with a nice atmosphere. Also look into Club Quarters Hotel. |
