Will my Garmin Nuvi 660 reroute if a bridge is out? |
Travel Info Hi I am going to San Francisco and when I plan my route with mapquest it keeps telling me to take a bridge that was recently knocked out by a big fire. Will my GPS know that the bridge is closed and automatically reroute me around the bridge? Its the San Francisco-Oakland bay bridge... thanks Travel Tips The bridge was not knocked out, it was a highway overpass, and it has been repaired. Others It was the 580 interchange in the MacArthur Maze freeway junction complex, but its all fixed now and traffic is normal. Where are you coming from...and have you checked up on the news lately about the "knocked out bridge"? It actually was a highway overpass and has been already been fixed since the end of May!!! You will have no problems according to the Mapquest directions or your GPS system....everything should be smooth sailing...unless you hit traffic! All is well on the Bay Bridge, open and clear (except) for traffic. If you make a wrong turn the GPS will redirect you. Just keep your eye on the road and bring a co-pilot. |
