Transportation, fishermans wharf, san francisco...? |
Travel Info which is easiest, taxi, cable car? from my hotel in fishermans wharf, which is the easist and most fun way to get around the city? Travel Tips The cable cars are fun but not very useful as public transportation. They are always crowed, the rail lines are don't go very many places and it's slow. It's really just there for the tourists. Ride it once for the fun, afterward you will be taking a cab by choice. Others Yeah, cable car is more for fun. Taxis are cool if you have the money. Buses are available too (love that they have zero emissions and run on electricity, that rocks!) You can walk too, but it's a big city. Make sure you check out Muir Woods. It's a must. Cabs will be the most efficient. The cable car will only take you over the hill to Union Square (unless you transfer at California, then it takes you to Embarcardero or Van Ness Avenue); plus, it's expensive and crowded. For the cost of one round trip on a cable car, you could take a cab almost all the way across town. walk!!! you can totally do it! walk fishermans wharf then through north beach to china town then through the stockton tunnel and walk around union square and you can walk to the embarcadero. or just take a cable car from union square back to fisherman's wharf. i do it all the time! i love it! OR take the pedi-cab's. they give you a guided tour! otherwise if you must there are 3 cable car routes to take. cabs suck - you don't really get to see much! born & raised sf grrli! Walk around for the close things that you would like to see, it's easy and inexpensive, plus you get to see things that you might miss if not. I would say either taxi or cable car for the farther things. personal trip |
