What do you think about San Francisco? |
Travel Info What do you think about San Francisco? I've been here my whole life and just want others opinion of this great city, what where some good things that happened to you here, and what where some bad things? Where did you go? And did you like it? Travel Tips I was born and raised in SF and I love living here. I love that we're like the New York of the West Coast yet we still get to brag about our mellow, sunny, California side. I also love that the music from the Bay is beginning to gain recognition again. All my good memories lie here. I'm 16 years old so I can't go clubbing yet but my friends and I never have a hard time having fun. One of my best memories is when we were out in Chinatown and couldn't catch a bus so we decided to run through the tunnel towards Union Square. We ran cause we didn't like the hobo pee smell but in a weird way, it made the experience more fun. Also, I absolutely love going to Macy's during the holiday season to look at the baby animals in the window. Others I was just at AT&T Park yesterday watching the Giants play the A's (they lost, sadly) and I really enjoyed myself. I was sitting up on the top bleachers with a group of friends and a beer, it was nice and sunny but not too hot, I had a gorgeous view of the Bay and McCovey Cove, and it was just a lovely afternoon. I live outside of the city and I love being able to visit whenever I want, however I'm not sure I'd really want to live there. It's so hard to get around and it's sickeningly expensive to live there. There is awesome stuff going on (sports, concerts, theater, events) all the time and that makes it a great city, but not necessarily one I'd want to be in the middle of all the time! San Francisco is a great place, the best part is that it's close to lots of things. It's health conscious, green, and there's always lots going on. I make it a point to something new all of the time. This website has helped me find fun ideas of things in San Francisco and throughout the rest of the Bay Area. http://www.shmango.com We visited there a couple of years ago and loved it. good stuff: people are very friendly weather(cloudy but cool) stores beaches parks bad stuff: lots of homeless traffic housing prices urban sprawl I'm a girl from Holland and I went to San Francisco in 2005. Loved it! It's my favorite city in the US (I've lived in a small town in Texas before and I've visited New York a few times, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Honolulu). The people were extremely friendly, the city was very clean, I loved the cable cars, the piers, everything! I'm going to come back next year!! Pleased to see you love S.F. My friends and I are planning a vacation along the west coast late sept. We intend to go from S.F.to San Diego via perhaps Palm Springs or similar. We would be grateful for any info you can pass along E.G. do you need a car to get around S.F. How many days would you recommend we take to see the the major sites. Good areas (safe) to stay. Good golf courses, any info. The do's and don'ts. We are in our 50s, will be vacationing for a total of two weeks in total. Thank you. |
