San Francisco: should I stay at the Fusion hotel or the La Luna Inn?

Travel Info
I checked both hotels online, they both seem nice and clean.

I'm planning a vacation visit to San Francisco. Im debating if staying in a hotel ($99/night , La Luna Inn) with free parking
or stay at the Fussion ($175 plus parking fee)

Also I dont know how much will i be really needing a car, o r should i just use the cable car.

Travel Tips
San Francisco is a small city and the best way to see it is to not have a car. Driving in SF is difficult, lots of traffic, not enough parking, many one way streets, and big hills, not great if you live there, torture if you are a visitor. Besides, you can't see the scenery if you are driving. Of course if you drive to the city you really don't have much of a choice as to where to park.

The La Luna is proably better if you must bring your car. You will have free parking and can use public transporation to get around the city [buy a muni passport, good for all muni transport including the cable car] you are close to two bus lines the 30 stockton which will take you past fishermans wharf and to union square and the ball park, with transfer point to a lot of other transporation options. http://www.sfmuni.org

If you really want to stay downtown I think you could find other options than the Fussion which seems a bit pricey though I've not seen the rooms. You may want to look into these hotels near Union Square for a comparison:
Hotel Adagio
Maxwell Hotel
Cartright Hotel
Hotel Rex
Monaco Hotel
Hotel Mark Twain

The main difference is location. At Fusion you're right on Union Square with access to all kinds of public transportation, tourist sites, shopping, etc.

At La Luna you're way out on Lombard in the Marina district, which is a very busy street day and night; and you'd definitely need a car (or lots of time and patience) to get around the city.

And don't count on the cable car for transportation. It's $5 each direction and usually jammed.
