Mission district, San Francisco? |
Travel Info I am going to live in Mission district - San Francisco, where can I look for a job there?? can you help me with some tips? thanks Travel Tips actually, the mission district is not full of sky scrapers. downtown san francisco is. mission street runs into downtown. the mission is an older neighborhood with lots of great places for food and entertainment. unfortunately, i don't know of any big companies that have offices down there. most of the bigger offices are located downtown or in the financial district. there will be jobs all over the city, however. it just really depends on what you're looking for. and also, the mission can be a relatively tough place at night....so be careful. Others It's huge and is full of skyscrapers. Visa has offices there. Not to mention all kinds of food places, stores, etc. PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) has offices on Mission, Market, and Beale Street (all withint 1-2blocks). I don't know where to start there are SOOO many businesses there. There's lots of cafes, bookstores, restaurants that may be hiring. First you will need some sort of resume. Print out about 20 copies and carry them with you. The resume should be no more than one page, and list relevant job skills, education, etc.. If you are looking for restaurant work, you will just have to hit the pavement and see what you can find out there. A great resource for jobs in SF is www.craigslist.org. Be aware that SF is not that big of a city, geographically speaking, and there are many transport options from the MIssion to other parts of the city. |
