What are the most romantic spots (beaches, dining, etc) in/near Half Moon Bay CA? |
Travel Info Where is a great beach spot to watch the sunset??? Travel Tips I love it at San Gregorio. It's about 10+ miles from HMB but totally worth it. They have a state beach there as well and other spots off hwy 1 where you can pull over to watch the sunset. It's fantastic. If you do go to San Gregorio, climb up on the little hill they have on right side. Do be careful while climbing but it's so pretty from up there. Another nice spot to watch the sunset is off of Mira Monte. They have that mobile home community right by the little parking lot where you can park the car. They also have a golf course little up the hill at the end of the street. But you can park at the first parking area on left and then walk down to the beach from within the golf course. Fun place if you don't want to drive too long! I usually don't go up North as much because it gets foggy very often, but if you do want to try out sometime, Fort Funston off of hwy 35 is beautiful place. Mostly, it's a hang-gliding spot and folks bring their dogs to walk on the beach there but it's a fabulous view of the ocean from such big height and sunsets are beautiful on a clear evening. Now for the dining part, I prefer the city instead of HMB, near the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip garden they have a couple of really good restaurants. There's an American restaurant called Beach Chalet brewery (it's on second floor in the building that has little museum thing on the first floor) and a Thai restaurant named Sea View restaurant. Both of them are right next to the beach. Sorry can't think of any good food places around HMB. In any case, have fun!
