Ideas for mini-vacation around San Francisco or SF Bay Area? |
Travel Info I have 2 days off from work this weekend, and I want to get out of here. I lived here for 10 years, but nothing comes to mind. Anything I can think of takes either a few hours, or it takes more than 2 days. I want to get away from home and most importantly my computer for as long as possible in these 2 days. I'm either alone or in a company of 2-3 other people, all single in mid- to late 20s. Travel Tips Head to Healdsburg and go wine-tasting and canoe the Russian River. Go to Half-moon Bay. Horse back ride and play at the beach. Eat at Moss Beach Distillery. Go the the Fitzgerald Marine reserve there to see the tide pools. Starfish, seals, pelicans etc. Go to Ano Nuevo down the highway to see the Elephant Seals all over the beach. Pick your own kiwis at the kiwi farm. Take a whale watching boat. A lot closer than Monterey! Go to Angel's Camp area or Murphys for foothills wine tasting and tour a cave. Moaning Cavern, California Cavern etc.... Camp at Calaveras Big Trees if you want to camp. Others Check out Muir Woods and Stenson beach. You want to head either to Napa or Santa Cruz. Both are less than two hours away and great fun. Of course Napa has wine and great restaurants, but they also have fun shopping and sightseeing. Santa Cruz has the beach, and a great lay back beach/college town feeling to it. There is a great redwood park just out of town to lose yourself in, or you can stroll around their fun quaint shops and restaurants. you should go to hawiia because i know you is tried from working them long hours and you go to work to and do not miss any days at all yeap you need a break bad. Go wine tasting in Sonoma or Napa County Or Camping on one of the beaches in Marin or Sonoma County Santa Cruz is a lot of fun Amusement parks (Great America or if you want to include animals marine world) Go to chamber of Commerce Web Site (San Francisco) Napa (wine country), Point Reyes (National Seashore), Gilroy (Garlic capital), Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge (walking across the span is nice). |
