San Francisco Nightlife and Restaurants? |
Travel Info My wife and I are staying at a hotel in Pacific Heights and we are looking for some good neighborhood bars and pubs. What areas should we go? Also, any recommendations on good seafood restaurants? Thanks! Travel Tips For Pacific Heights, Union Street is the most lively artery. http://www.unionstreetshop.com/... But excellent restaurants are scattered all over the neighborhood, as well as the Marina District. SF Mayor Gavin Newsom's first restaurant, Plumpjack Cafe, is in this neighborhood (he now owns several restaurants, hotels, and a winery in Napa). Fresca is a good Latino seafood joint: 2114 Fillmore St., (415) 447-2668 Cafe Maritime is a traditional seafood restaurant that's open late-night (the ktichen doesn't close until 1 AM): http://www.cafemaritimesf.com/index.html... Pacific Catch is also really nice seafood restaurant: http://www.pacificcatch.com/ Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but gritty-looking Polk Street is actually the place to go for fresh seafood in San Francisco (not the Wharf). And it's easily accessible from Pacific Heights, if you don't mind going from "ultra-rich" to "working class" by crossing Van Ness. Three great seafood places are all on the same street: Yabbie's Coastal Kitchen, Pesce, and hole-in-the-wall Swan's Oyster Depot. 2237 Polk St, (415) 474-4088 2227 Polk St, (415) 928-8025 1517 Polk St, (415) 673-1101 Others I Appreciate your thoughts that you know Nightlife and Restaurants.
