What is parking like at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco? |
Travel Info Am going to visit Berkeley and want to drive to Golden Gate Park, but have heard parking is a nightmare in S.F. - is there a parking lot or garage, what is the cost, and is it likely to be full? Travel Tips The Music Concourse Garage is open 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. every day, and costs $2.50 an hour during the week, $3 an hour on weekends (bicycle parking is free). The entrance is at 10th Avenue and Fulton Street. There's also time-limited parking along JFK Drive, MLK Jr. Drive and side streets within the park. However, be aware that cars are banned in certain sections of the park on weekends. Others I had no problem parking at Golden Gate Park ... We went in and found a parking right next to the playground for our daughter to run around for a while We parked at a place where we could park all day I think it was 12 bucks at the Pier ... Get that instead of 5-7bucks an hour rate ... Have a great trip in San Francisco! if you go early before 12 you should have a problem at golden gate park they do have parking on side streets i dont think we payed more than 5 dollars, visit japenees tea garden while there neat to see Parking? In San Frisco? It's just a rumor I assure you. Leave you car at the hotel, take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) into the city and rent a bike. The city is quite compact and easy to navigate. Street side parking is all but non-existent and parking garages are mostly in the central city and cost an arm and a leg. The West side of town GG Park, the Presidio and the bridge are all really close. Many business trips to The City On weekdays I have NEVER had a problem to park on a street. Even my mom, who can't do parallel parking parks in the Golden Gate Park with NO problems at all. Concerts and events are another story. However, 99% of them are during weekend. |
