Can you advise what are any good sight seeing places en route/ between san francisco (south bay) and yosemite? |
Travel Info I am going to Yosemite on Sunday and Monday, this weekend. However, instead of leaving early ,morning on Sunday to reach yosemite, i was thinking of starting on saturday and seeing places en route to yosemite if I start on saturday from San francisco. Can you advise what are any good sight seing places between san francisco (south bay) and yosemite village that I can do for half a day before going to yosemite the next days? Travel Tips A nice town just before Yosemite on Hwy 120 is the town of Groveland, it might be a nice location for a walk, lunch. Coming up Hwy 120 the city of Oakdale is nice, I like the antique shops. Oakdale has a great cheese factory ** Try the smoked Gouda on the left side coming into down and in the center of town is an outlet for Hersheys Chocolate. Just off hwy 120 about 10 miles is the City of Sonora a nice Gold Country community. Enjoy Others In the Central Valley there are many fruit stands along the Highway. That is the heart of California's agricultural region. Just drive leasurely through and stop at some of the towns along the way for lunch in one of their cafes. I remember mayonnaise, ketchup, and gravy was an important part of many dishes. |
