If living cost more in one area does that mean you will make more $ if you live some where not as exspensive?

Travel Info
california is exspensive so if i had a job in california would i make more money then if i had the same job somewhere that is not exspensive?

Travel Tips
It is all relative...you might make more $$ in CA, but it will go out of pocket for living expenses.
If you lived somewhere else, you might not make as much $$, but you also won't be as much out of pocket for living expenses.
So at the end of the month when you dump out your pockets, you will have pretty much the same amount of money left.
So...pick a place to live that is where you want to be...if it is expensive make sure it is really worth living there! Also is the stress of making enough money to live there worth it!
Others
Not necessarily. The wages do not always keep up with the cost of living. Also sometimes wages are high in an area where the cost of living is low. You would have to check it out on an individual basis.
Depends on the company you work for. Like the company I work for, all the people with the same positions make the same wage...so if you live in MS, you make a lot more than in CA...compared to the cost of living.
