Oakland, CA has many dangerous parts. But near the current baseball stadium (A's Coliseum) is pretty much the worst part of Oakland. There is a portion called "Sixty-Ninth Village" - which is notorious for drugs, murders, and other aggravated assaults. East Oakland (which makes includes 69th Village) and other rough neighborhoods, is generally known as the poorer, troubled, violent portion of the city.

Looking at the crime data there are a few neighborhoods to avoid...however the highest incidence of violent crime seems to be in the Elmhurst area. (in the last 90 days 130 reports of aggravated assault and 11 murders).
