Stand on any high hill and you should be able to see many: downtown Oakland, McAfee Coliseum, Fisherman's Wharf, over in Marin Co. there are usually shows in Corte Madera-Larkspur and San Rafael.
Head out to Alameda Point (the former Naval Air base) and watch everything. Bring a sweatshirt!

Berkeley puts on a good show. Lawrence hall of science is a nice vantage point to see a lot.
