Travel Tips
I'd recommend the area around the Exploratorium - there is a lake with swans and lots of beautiful big shady trees. And if you get bored with your book, you can always go round the museum, which is one of the best science museums I've ever been in.

I was in SanFran a while ago and I found some good relaxing places. If you go to fishermans wharf and where the old ghiradelli(sp?) chocolate factory is. there is a big green grassy area.. also try golden gate park... It's really nice and quiet there
At the park.
Golden gate park or Muir Woods forest (in Marin).
There are many lovely areas in Golden Gate Park, especially near the Conservatory of Flowers. I also enjoy the Arboretum, which tends to have less people.
