Things i need to do before i move down to California?!?>!? |
Travel Info I might move down to california for a good 6monhts, i might drive from ohio and Take my car down to California,. do i need rto register my car? get a new drivers liscense? how can i drie there legaly?!and where do i need to go if i move to the bay area. i..e Berkeley or San Fransicsco ?? Travel Tips If you have a drivers license from another state you can drive in CA no problem, but as another responder noted you must get a CA license and registration if you are here more than a certain number of days, though I think there is some provision if you are only working in the state temporarily. The link below will take you to the CA Department of Motor Vehicles site. San Francisco and Berkeley are both very interesting and diverse places to live. Parking can be hard to come by in both cities, SF has a good bus system so you can get all around town very well without driving. Source(s): http://www.dmv.ca.gov/ Other Travel Tips everywhere in california is expansive. its an expensive state. san fransisco is a tough place to find a cheaper house or something. Cailifornia is very simple. If you start living there and burning up miles on the highways, you have 30 days from when you get there to register your car and get a driver's license. Same thing if you put kids in the local school system. You don't have to do any of this if you are visiting, just if you take up residence and start working there. I hope you have some $$ saved up. San Francisco is extremely expensive, and Berkeley isn't too much better. Since I don't know your situation I cannot advise you further. Good luck and enjoy my home state. |
