What's a great place to hike in Berkeley California? |
Travel Info Can any suggest a good hike in Berkeley? I'm looking for a path or loop that's about two hours out and back, medium grade, easy to find, with a nice place to picnic. Thanks for the help. Travel Tips In Berkeley I suggest the general area that is Tilden- for example, Inspiration Point. It can get a bit windy in some areas, but its beautiful, and in all honesty its not windy for long. http://www.bahiker.com/eastbayhikes/tild... Walk out as far as you want, but the whole loop is many miles. What I believe youre looking for is found in Oakland (which is a short distance away). The regional parks such as Sibley and Redwood are great for walking, and have areas for picnics. Others Ditto to everything in Hannah's answer. She is right on. I just want to add that the Tilden Park Inspiration Point Trail is marked for distance by the quarter mile. So it will easy for you to see how far you have hiked. You've got the best answer already. Tilden is the place if you literally mean Berkeley. If you're asking more generally about the East Bay there are some other good options. |
