Anyone familiar with Ventura, California ? |
Travel Info How is the job market there ? Cost of living ? Crime rate ? Travel Tips Ventura, California, is very nice. There are, of course, some "not-so-nice" areas as there are in any city, but the majority of it would be a good place to live. It is located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara along the Pacific Coast. The last I heard the job market was very good there, although the cost of living is quite high (anywhere in Southern California is high right now!). As for the crime rate, the only statistics I could find were current as of 2001 - and at that time the crime rate had fallen for the 10th straight year! I have family near there and they think it is an awesome place to raise a family, so I'm thinking it is a very safe area. I hope this helps! Source(s): http://www.ventura-usa.com/ http://www.ci.ventura.ca.us/ Other Travel Tips no I grew up in Ventura,and visit a few times a year,it is a place that is growing,there are job opportunities,rent and housing cost is high,but other living expenses are lower compared to other places,such as Northern California.Its a safe place to live.There are great beaches,a historic downtown...with cafes,restaurant's,antique shops...its a laid back place to live,mediterranean climate,has a green belt of agricultural that separates it from L.A. over a hour away. |
