What should I not miss in the Silicon Valley? |
Travel Info I'm going to visit that area next weekend. What should I not miss? The Tech Museum sounds like a good choice but maybe there is something better. Any advice? Thanks. Travel Tips Others Silicon Valley really isn't much of a tourist destination. There's really not a lot here that you couldn't find elsewhere. The Tech Museum is in downtown, but there's not much else in the vicinity worth seeing. Santana Row is a recent addition to San Jose and it's great if you like browsing in high-end shops. Lovely European like atmosphere. It's also within walking distance of the Winchester Mystery House. If you have a car, you could go to Great America (a large amusement park in Santa Clara), to Santa Cruz for the beach (about 30 minutes south) or San Francisco (about 50 minutes north). But lower your expectations of Silicon Valley for touristy things to do, and you won't be disappointed. I've lived here 20+ years. Dont forget to try Half Moon Bay up the coast. the Discovery Museum and the hp pavilion the caltrain and vta train stations mostly the yahoo company There is also the Rosecrucian Museum, which has some amazing Egyptian artifacts and art, the Children's Discovery Museum (not just for kids!), and for silly tourist fun check out the Winchester Mystery House. |
