Travel Info We are going to the Carmel, CA area next week. Any suggestions on what to do and see? Travel Tips u can go to: -monterey aquarium -17 mile drive -cannery row -downtown monterey -the wharf -point lobos (really beautiful) -Lovers point -pebble beach-golf course lots of things to do there... its really beautiful. HAVE FUN. Others try their gumbo. i heard that it was good Pebble Beach Golf Course Carmel is a great place to visit! MY husband and I had our honeymoon in Carmel and Monterey, and we have been back many times since. If you like being outdoor and hiking around a bit, the Point Lobos State Reserve is only a few miles away, and it is well worth the trip. The views are unbelievable! (I attached their web-site) Carmel has many great shops and art galleries. You could easily spend an entire day eating,shopping, and taking a break on the beach at the end of the hill in town. There is also the 17 mile drive, but I am not really recommending it. You have to pay money to drive through mansions and golf courses. It is o.k. if you are really bored, but it is not a great thing to do. There are plenty of places to drive that are more beautiful - and free! Montery is of course close by. There, you have Cannery Row and the Montery Bay Aquarium. The aquarium is really worth a visit. If you are on Cannery Row, and you want a good sea food restaurant, try The Fish Hopper. They are right on the water, and they have really good clam chowder. We always make a point to eat there when we are in the area. Well, I hope that I helped you out a bit. Eat st one of the restaurants overlooking the ocean. Go to 17 mile drive. They pay is not expensive. The road is beautiful. Look at the golf courses. You'll se wildlife: lots of birds and deer, and otters and seals and pelicans and others ;) I simply love this place. Carmel is nice. There are lots of Art Galleries if you are interested in Art. Go through Big Sur, that's a place to enjoy the ocean, you can also see a waterfall in one of the parks there. my daughter lives in pacific grove, its near monterey, lovely area so many things to do, like everyone else on heres has told you already. going to hearst castle next week cant wait. |
