Any ideas on where to go for a nice relaxing weekend trip near San Jose, CA? |
Travel Info Me and a friend have been super stressed out and were looking for some ideas on where to go just for the weekend. We don't want to drive more than 3 hours from San Jose. Specific things to do would be great! Travel Tips go to Nevada City california up hwy 49 north of sacramento. especially during the blues festival each summer. get drunk listen to music dance Others Go to Santa Cruz its a 45 minute drive. South on 17.The beaches are great,(bring a boogy board and have fun in the water) and there is the Boardwalk the Wharf(rides,shopping and eats). Nice places to stay. Monterey isn't much further(40minutes) south. I would go to either Monterey or Santa Cruz - ahhh...that sounds good right now. Carmel and Monterey are great places to visit! If you like being outdoor and hiking around a bit, the Point Lobos State Reserve is only a few miles away, and it is well worth the trip. The views are unbelievable! (I attached their web-site) Carmel has many great shops and art galleries. You could easily spend an entire day eating,shopping, and taking a break on the beach at the end of the hill in town. Montery is of course close by. There, you have Cannery Row and the Montery Bay Aquarium. The aquarium is really worth a visit. If you are on Cannery Row, and you want a good sea food restaurant, try The Fish Hopper. They are right on the water, and they have really good clam chowder. We always make a point to eat there when we are in the area. http://pt-lobos.parks.state.ca.us/...... Definetely go to Monterey and visit their Monterey Bay Aquarium, stop by a Lover's point just to enjoy the view. Eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the ocean. Go to 17 mile drive. They pay is not expensive. The road is beautiful. Look at the golf courses. You'll se wildlife: lots of birds and deer, and otters and seals and pelicans and others ;) I simply love this place. Go through Big Sur, that's a place to enjoy the ocean, you can also see a waterfall in one of the parks there. go to the beach: MONTEREY CARMEL SANTA CRUZ it takes less than 2 hrs to go to either of these places. pacific grove is a lovely town on the coast near monterey and carmel, very relaxed, great restaurants, nice beaches, lovely bed and breakfasts. |
