Travel Info only have 4 days to enjoy the area thanks in advance Travel Tips Four days is more than enough time -- too much time, in fact. San Jose isn't much of a tourist destination. The city itself doesn't have any major attractions. But, if you're staying in San Jose be sure to see: * The Tech Museum of Innovation * Santana Row -- restaurants, upscale shops in a European-like walkable neighborhood * Winchester Mystery House -- Just a short walk from Santana Row * Egyptian Museum -- Small, but quite good. If you can travel outside the city, try Santa Cruz for the beach and boardwalk, San Francisco (less than an hour away), Palo Alto for the Stanford campus and shopping. A little further away: Napa and Sonoma, Monterey and Carmel are all good tourist areas. Others Dave and Busters in Milpitas Visit the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto (about 10 miles west of San Jose). The Cantor Center for Visual Arts (art museum) is wonderful, and so is walking through the Main Quad on campus. I live in San Jose and can definitely say that on a normal weekend there is not much to do. I do however recommend renting a car and go to Santa Cruz/ Capitola (for the beaches) and San Francisco (for everything you can think of) for sure. Both are about 45 minutes to an hour away from San Jose. Your not gonna want to go much further than that because of travel time. If your short on cash take caltrain from San Jose to San Francisco. It costs about $13 for a round trip ticket. go on caltrain and bart you can take caltrain to san francisco go to pier 39,coit tower,golden gate bridge. take caltrain to millbrae station then take bart to go under water |
