What are some cool things to do in San Jose? |
Travel Info I am driving to San Jose from LA to visit some relatives next week. What are some cool things to do up there? Family-oriented activities. I know they have a Great America there, anything else anyone? I don't want to be bored to death out there. Travel Tips Well, I have lived in San Jose for 28 years and I sometimes get bored! But there are things to do here... Check out shows or hockey at the HP Pavillion. The San Jose Museum of Art is downtown and used to be free admission. It might not be anymore but it's a cool place to check out. The Rosicrucian Museum is neat if you're into Egyptian art. Downtown is pretty small but there are some good restaurants and bars to hang out in and some places have live music which is always fun. (ie: Gordon Biersch Brewery) Japantown is great if you like sushi. Of course there's always bowling and mini-golf if that's your type of thing. :0) Santana Row is a great place to walk around and window shop. Great restaurants, cool shops, a theater, wine tasting, cafes, Farmer's Market, etc. Valley Fair mall is really big now and can take all day to explore... The Winchester Mystery house is worth a visit if you've never been. You mentioned Great America which is fun. There's also Raging Waters but it might be a little too cold for that now! During this time of year they usually set up an outdoor ice skating rink by the San Jose Museum on Market Street or there's an indoor rink at Vallco Mall and one closer to downtown called Logitech Ice. You could visit the Stanford campus in Palo Alto which is beautiful and they have a museum and a gorgeous chapel and an outdoor sculpture garden. There are plenty of parks around (Vasona being my fav) but I don't know if it'll be too cold for that. You could also drive up to San Francisco which is less than an hour away. Plenty to do and see up there! That's all I can think of at the moment... Hope it helps! Others the flea market, movies, bowling, miniature golf, the children museum, threes a lot of parks to go to, the mall, all kinds of things to do you shouldn't be bored Theres not really much to DO in San Jose its just good because your close to alot of other cool places unless you know alot of people to chill with out here. |
