I need to fly from Orlando to Silicon Valley. Should I fly to San Jose, San Francisco or another Airport?

Travel Info
I can fly from Sanford or Orlando International Airport. Which airport (and airline) is the most convenient to reach Silicon Valley, CA....Mineta San Jose International, San Jose/Reid-Hillview of Santa Clara County, San Francisco International or Oakland International ?
And what transport (e.g. cab, train, shuttle, hire car etc) is the cheapest solution to get from the Airport to the technology companies in Silicon Valley ?

Travel Tips
Mark,
The best Airport is San Jose international from there you can take the VTA bus for free to the light rail and for $5 you can travel by rail or bus throughout the silicon valley.

I would fly to San Jose. It is the cheapest and the airport is not very busy compared to SFO.

Another alternative however is flying to Oakland. They have a beautiful airport but it is about an hour and a half to SJ.

My advice would be to fly directly to San Jose.

As for the tech companies, I work for AMD. We are in Sunnyvale which is a 10 minute drive from downtown San Jose.

Google, Cisco, Intel, and AMD are all within about 20 minutes.

Have fun on your trip.
Live in San Jose.
I agree with both of the posters. SFO is a nightmare! San Jose is much easier. I would hire a car for your visits to the technology companies. The driver will know the best route to take according to the traffic conditions at the time. Very efficient.
SFO and SJC are both in the Silicon Valley, so you're good either way (although SJC can be easier to get through) Transportation is expensive and public transportation is impossible over the whole valley. If you're visiting tech companies in the Silicon Valley, I'd rent a car unless you have one specific one you're going to. Have a great trip.
I've lived in San Jose all my life and I've never heard of San Jose/Reid-Hillview of Santa Clara County. Where did you find that?!

But I agree with the other posters that Mineta is by far the easiest to navigate and closest to the tech companies of Silicon Valley, including Yahoo, AOL, Apple, IBM, Hitachi, etc. (in addition to those already listed such as Google and Cisco and such)

I would suggest mapping out all of the places you want to visit and see how far apart they are. It's probably best to rent a car since public transpo around here leaves much to be desired. You can take lightrail around downtown San Jose and the Caltrain has more breadth, but I still prefer to drive in this city. Some of the tech giants are as far away as Cupertino and Mountain View so it would be easiest for you if you had your own car.
san jose and cheapest would be taxis
