What is the best way from San Jose to LA? 5 or 101?

Google and Yahoo say 101 while mapquest and map24 say 5...

Take 101 south to Gilroy, take 152 east to Los Banos, then take 5 south. 5 is a straight line so it is faster, although there is sometimes a lot of traffic on 152. It should take about 4-5 hours to get to the Valencia area just outside of LA, everything after that depends on the LA traffic!

5 is faster (4-5 hours). 101 is more scenic but longer (5-6). Of course, this depends on your speed. :)
