What is the community like in Silicon Valley? |
Travel Info What is the community like in Silicon Valley? Travel Tips Silicon Valley is a huge area incorporating several cities. You can find wonderful cultural events (e.g. local theater communities in San Jose and Los Gatos), great concerts in Mountain View at the Shoreline, and be relatively close to San Francisco and the coastline. It is debatable on what area defines "Silicon Valley" but generally, the South Bay Area that includes Silicon Valley is a wonderful place to live and it's full of opportunities for education, dining out, and meeting a diverse group of people, to name a few. Others Expensive! Houses cost about $700,000 for an average home. On the plus side, we have a lot of educated people here from all races :) We have great schools nearby: Stanford, Santa Clara University, UC Berkeley, San Jose State. Diverse. There are people from every part of the world here. It is expensive. The weather is fantastic. Many high tech companies have their headquarters here. Salaries are excellent yet the cost of living is high. Education is good with several top universities in the area (Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Santa Clara University, etc.) Close to San Francisco so you can go up to the city if you like. Close to the beach and mountains as well. Several sporting teams. In addition to the college games there are the SF Giants & 49ers, Oakland As and Raiders, San Jose Sharks plus soccer, basketball and other teams. The diversity provides great culinary options. There are restaurants feature foods from all over the world. Yum! |
