Travel Info How to get to palo alto, California from Geneva, Switzerland? Travel Tips Fly to San Francisco Airport (or San Jose or Oakland, but San Francisco is the closest and most accesible). Take a taxi, airport shuttle, bus, train, or rental car to Palo Alto. Others Your simplest route will be a direct flight from Geneva to San Francisco International, then a train ride to Palo Alto. I've taken that train; it's about 35-40 minutes. Take a plane. LOL Continental Airlines flies directly from several places in Europe to San Jose or San Francisco :) From San Jose you can take bus to Palo Alto :) Fly from Geneva into either SFO or SJC. From there take a shuttle to Palo Alto. Flying out of Geneva you will end up in New York first. It's about an 8 hour flight. You will then have to change planes and catch one into San Francisco. That flight is about 6 hours. After landing in SF you can rent a car. The trip from San Francisco to Palo Alto is not long at all as far as miles its is about 20. Traffic however will make the trip longer depending on the time of day. When you leave the airport you will head south on the 101 freeway. The sign will say 101 South towards San Jose. |
