I love san jose , but some nieghbor hoods are really getto now.... not because of the races but because there is so much gang violence there...... This I know.... it was so bad I moved to a little town outside of vanvcouver wa it is so beautiful out here and my kid's go to a great school,,,anyways what school is he/she graduating from I know alot of people.... from San jose high , I went to James Lick, Lincoln high, Overfelt, Sorry I am babling like I know you...okay here are some places you could go to see the sites 1. San fransico warf ....eat some shell crap ...beuatiful scennery American Musical Theatre of San Jose Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose History San Jose J. Lohr Winery & Tasting Museum & Planetarium Paramount's Great America San Jose Museum of Art San Jose Repertory Theatre Tech Museum of Innovation The Rosicrucian Egyptian Winchester Mystery House and 40 or 45 minute ride away is san franciso... SAN FRANCISCO TOUR 5 HOUR ITINERARY! (Get out of the shuttle at these stops) Start at: The Ferry Building Ferry/Bay Cruise Sausalito - via Ferry Cruise Golden Gate Bridge Chinatown - Guided Walk Palace of Fine Arts Nob Hill Grace Cathedral Lombard Street- Special Lombard Route Golden Gate Park Japanese Tea Garden Alamo Square "6 Sisters" Cable Car Barn Museum End at: The Ferry Building Others Bring lots of sunscreen and a stylish hat especially if the graduation is taking place outside which it probably is. It's just another city without much charm or historical significance. It's at the end of San Francisco Bay, about an hour to hour and a half drive. Not much to see or do outside of the Winchester House. It was pretty much the center of "Silicon Valley" before it went bust. There are still plenty of companies there, but that is just it...buildings with office workers. Sorry to say but that is a long time to be in San Jose, I would have stayed in San Francisco and driven to the University. there are a lot a of asians here and you can see asian stores everywhere If you're renting a car, leave plenty of time - the airport is a mess - particularly if you come in on American or Southwest, it will take you a good 30 minutes to get out of the airport even if you DON'T check luggage. It's so sad - SJ used to be one of the easiest in/out airports around and now it is one of the worst! San Jose may appear to be kind of a "blah" city, but (despite what another person said) it does have a ton of history and used to be a very important city. There is an incredible Mission and historic district that you can visit. The university is one of the oldest universities in California and has a prestigious history. Also, the surrounding areas are wonderful. I'd suggest making the 30 minutes trek over highway 17 to visit Santa Cruz (Boardwalk, beaches, beautiful mountains for hiking) or Capitola. If you're into driving more you could take a day trip to Monterey or Carmel. There is a world-famous Aquarium in Monterey. Have a great trip! Do you know the way to San Jose LA is a great big free way put 100.oo down and buy a car |
