Travel Tips Well, if you don't have a hose, you don't have to buy one, so no matter where you lived, it would be less expensive to live san hose. Others Both places are well above the national average in costs but you can live equally expensively or cheaply in both places. Of course its cheaper in san jose. Thats where the illegal mexicans start out at. some come over without a pot to piss in and then make it to L.A. to get a job and mingle in. L.A. is where the money is. anybody with a right mind won't hang around in san jose unless they are touring or have little money. So yes would be my answer I would say San Jose! and to top it off way less traffic than LA. Both LA and SJ are widely spread out - as a result, there are expensive and less expensive neighborhoods in both places. There are also places that are more and less safe - you should do a little deeper research on specifically what you're looking for. You may want to locate close to where you intend to work (or hang out). Both places have amazing traffic - i noticed that someone earlier said the traffic was less in San Jose; I've actually experienced the opposite - but again this is very location dependent. It depends where in LA. For instance I lived in Santa Monica and that place was more expensive than San Jose. I found it very hard to find a studio that i could afford so I ended up renting a room. 1st place I stayed at was $600 and seven blocks from the beach and then later I got a room for $500. In san jose you can get a room for 300. Even though Santa Monica was more expensive I sure did like it a lot more than SJ. I find San Jose to be quite boring.
