My plans? |
Travel Info i have a plan. i want to move to california. me and my roomate. we get a 1 bedroom. 1 sleeps in the living room. and another sleeps in the bedroom. we obvuiosly split the rent. and we go in our fields. he's a electrician. and i sand and refinish hardwood floors. . okay... we want to go to cali. so since we live in a 1 bedroom. we go for a year. the salary's are higher obvuisly . becuz cost of living. but since salary is higher. we save it up and back to our our old homes.. back in east coast.. then we get our own cribs......we .. what do u think about that. DOES THAT SEEM LIKE ITS A GOOD IDEA. keep infact that we have jobs waiting for us over their.. DO U THINK WE'LL END UP MAKING THOUSANDS..?? or is their a badside to this ! Travel Tips I think you should remember that everything in California is more expensive - not just rent. There is gas, car insurance, electricity, etc. If you plan to move many things between the west and east coast you will find that very expensive (in the thousands). If you are taking what fits in a car you might be okay. You may also be surprised to find out what you think is good money where you are now may not actually be good money when you get to California. Remember to budget in gas and food money if you plan to drive to and from California. I think you would end up with some money saved at the end of one year, but I really don't think the amount saved would be worth making the move. Others If you plan only to move to Cal. you wasting your time, stay in the east, you have jobs there. I moved from the Midwest about three years ago. Your plan would be foolish. Stay put! The cost of moving will probably eat up most of your "profit" from this plan. It depends where in California you plan to live - if you live in the sticks like Redding, Davis, or Bakersfield, sure, you can find cheap rent; but if you live in San Jose, Los Angeles, or San Diego, the high rent and cost of living won't let you save up much of a nest egg to take back east with you. You can't move here to make money!!??!!! It costs too much to live! Everything is expensive here! Doing what you guys do, it seems you can move anywhere... but your pay is going to reflect the area you live in. So if you get paid alot, your rent will be alot. I think if you wanted to live here and live and work and not that plan to save, you would be okay, but if you really want to save, you probably need a second or better job... then you can make the money you want. Good luck. If you get here, it's beautiful.... try Northern California, you may not want to move back! |
