Is Racial Discrimination an Issue in Sao Paulo?

Travel Info
Despite the fact that Sao Paulo is a multi-cultural city, with European account for more than 50% of its population, I wonder if discrimination against coloured people (black or Asian or aboriginal) exists in that society? Is it safe for foreign tourists to travel around the city? Are they subject to hate crimes?

Travel Tips
Rest reassured that racial discrimination is NOT an issue at all in Sao Paulo.
When you come here, you'll be surprised to find one of the biggest asian communities outside Asia.
Chinese, Korean and Japanese immigrants are so well integrated within Sao Paulo's society that being of Asian origin here is almost a guarantee of being unnoticed.
The same goes for Black and for other South American countries immigrants.
Believe me: hate crimes may be erased from your Sao Paulo's "things to worry about" list.
If you want any specific hints, I'd be very pleased to help you, just drop me a line.
