Travel Info Why do u think saudis -more than any other nations- are considered as terrorists? and how can we change that? Travel Tips Because 75% of plane-hijackers in 9/11 WTC case are Saudi citizens or come from Saudi. There's nothing we can do to change that, because this stereotype has been built. It's extremely difficult to change the stereotype...! Others I feel that Muslims don't do nearly enough to demonstrate their opposition to terrorism perpetrated by Islamic extremists. This leads me to feel that with their silence, many Muslims tacitly approve of the tactics of the extremists. Unfortunately, it is a simple fact that it is primarily Arab Muslims who are engaged in the terrorism of recent decades. Without pressure from the West, I get the impression that no government in the Middle East would take any action against terrorist who target the U.S. and other western nations. It also doesn't help that the Quran dictates global domination by Islam. Moderate Muslims who seemingly turn a blind eye to this element of their own religion are doing themselves and civilization a grave disservice. More to point of your question, I believe that Saudis are viewed with greater suspicion due to the fact that all (or most of) the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis. Bin Laden purposely selected this cadre of terrorists based on this fact. Osama being Saudi as well only adds to the stigma. How to change this? Perhaps if the Saudis dedicated themselves to eradicating terrorists and their support systems within their country, and joining the fight against global terrorism in earnest. Someone there knows where Osama Bin Laden is and how to get to him. Handing him over to the U.S. would make a huge difference in how Americans viewed Saudis. You know. I live in Saudi. And we Saudi's feel others are terrorists.. USA is definitely terrorizing the middle east, or Bush's policies are. We Saudi's are just like any American in the respect that we want a happy healthy safe lifestyle.. We want to go to work, earn our livings, raise our children, eat, socialize like anyone else.. Just cause there were a few terrorists from Saudi Arabia doesn't make the whole country a group of Terrorists.. We are scared of terrorism also. There are just as many terrorists (and I say this term to mean anyone that terrorizes people, murders, rapists, snipers, etc) all over the world in every country. For every one of those in that plane, I could fine you 20 in any US federal prison.. Its just that locals criminals are not labeled "terrorists". Just foreign criminals are.. Same thing I say. .. How to change that you ask? Ask Bush to change his policies first.. Then the east will gradually settle down. Dear , this is an evil question i do not think that Saudis - more than any other nation - are considered as terrorists. if you are American what you call the kkk ? or the present arian nation ? what has done the American policy throughout the world ? just a reminder of the past , Vietnam and the present , Iraq we have nowadays American that disapprove what America did in Iraq as we had in the past Americans disapproving what America did in Vietnam. i disapprove what happened in 9/11 but would you disapprove all the dark moves of the American policy every where American interests are in play ? we do not have to change that because those people who caused 9/11 do not represent the whole Saudi population and every reasonably minded human being understands that the whole humanity is looking for peace , a just peace for every one and this also from the Saudis an egyptian living in usa Beacause USA government is full of morons. And they hate Saudi Arabia. because it is where jihad happens, they think they serve their god by doing this things, you can do nothing about it only the true GOD can do it. |
