Is Islam as practiced in Saudi Arabia the Islam that the rest of the (Muslim) world should follow? |
Travel Info Is Islam as practiced in Saudi Arabia the Islam that the rest of the (Muslim) world should follow? Travel Tips Hell no. Source(s): a Muslim from the "rest of the world" Other Travel Tips islam never preached rigidity... but that is exactly wht SA is doing, i suggest d other muslim countries should learn a bitter lesson from it and try to adopt to more liberal ideologies the islam that is practiced in Saudi Arabia is the closest to the real thing from all the other countries. because they follow the Sharia'a closely and the law of islam governs the land. some minorities though are extremists, and the Prophet may peace be upon him said " la ifrat wala tafreet" which generally means that extremes and excesses versus laziness and taking things very easily and freely is not accepted. so yes, i would say that they are on the right path. I agree with naj.ss86. It might not be 100% right, but its better than others. But if you want to create an opinion about the whole country based on that incident, I can't stop you. There are stupid people everywhere, you know. It is honestly hard to believe such stories even if they are narrated by eyewitnesses or newspapers, because you will always find someone who says the prophet's saying "PBUH" [Necessities allow forbiddens] to these "Motaween" and they would have understood the necessity of letting them out without a veil. This is the real Islam... when you have an excuse, you are allowed to do something you can't do in normal situations, like escaping fire without veil. Neither Saudi Arabia nor Iran don't represent the real Islam... Koran and Hadeeth explain the reality of Islam. If you want to know about Islam, its in the books, but the problem nowadays is the interpretation and practice of real ISLAM... not exactly, but this is the only country where Islam is practised by Islamic laws. It is exactly Islamic or not that is something different. |
