They'll lie and use loopholes so you can't file and successfully win an insurance claim against them if something you've shipped arrived broken. They have drivers that STEAL things, they'll just open the box and take it if they like it. I tried shipping my computer from my address in pittsburgh to my address in san fransisco when I moved for college via DHL because it was cheaper, and the driver STOLE my computer because it never arrived. I filed an insurance claim because I insured it for 2000 dollars and they didn't find in my favor. They also never found my computer. It depends on the type of "something" you want to send and how much it weighs. Documents are charged different to goods. Call your local DHL office and they should give you an exact answer.
