How to make a documentary???? |
Travel Info how can i make a documentary for school on a country?? its going to include everything in it!! but i want to know a good software or program to go with me step by step for free!! please help.. Travel Tips You can use a combination of both Windows Movie Maker and Photostory 3; both free either on your computer right now or for download from Microsoft. With Windows Movie Maker, you can create sequences of actual motion picture files that you can find on the internet, plus overlay music or use the sound from the clips. You can also incorporate slide show type footage that you can create with Photostory 3. You can find lots of footage at http://www.archive.org/index.php... although it's so large, it's like trying do go through a dusty museum. Try the Moving Images section: http://www.archive.org/details/movies... Not knowing what country you are doing, you will have to google up some stuff, specifically movie files, yourself. The main technical problem you will run into is with the codecs. There are different codecs for different types of moving image files. You must make sure you have the proper codecs in order for you to view your work through Windows Media Player. It is always best to download the larger file offered on the website as it is better quality. Make sure you download on broadband. Make sure the computer that you produce your extravaganza on is jam packed with RAM; 1 gb is best. No less than 512mb will do. Gather your materials and structure your project on paper before you start putting it together. You will save a lot of time and heartache in the long run. That's why filmmakers have scripts. Although in documentary, it doesn't seem as necessary, you should have your film scripted, much like a lawyer produces his arguments before he goes into court. He collects his evidence and makes sure he knows where he's heading so he can direct the jury to a proper understanding of his case. That's how documentaries are presented. If you have any other questions, email me. Others i dunno :( |
