Travel Info How far of a drive from Gig Harbor, WA to Seattle? W/ Traffic? Travel Tips It usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half to get to Seattle during traffic. With bridge work and other summer construction projects it can take much, much longer since there is road work going on in Gig Harbor/Tacoma (on the bridge), Tacoma (between 38th and the city center exits), Fife/Federal Way (just north of the Fife curve near Enchanted Parks), and Federal Way (320th). I'm sure there's more but I don't go north of Federal Way very often. Edited to add: There is no ferry service between Gig Harbor and Seattle. To take the ferry you'd have to go to Southworth or Bremerton, both of which take longer than driving around. It takes 15-20 minutes to get to Southworth and about 25-30 to get to Bremerton from Gig Harbor. The Southworth ferry only boards a limited number of cars since it goes to Vashon Island before unloading at Fontleroy, which is SW Seattle.(there are a few direct crossings but not many). The crossing time is about 40 minutes. The Bremerton ferry unloads in downtown Seattle. The crossing time is about 60 minutes. It only takes about 30 minutes to get to Downtown Seattle from the airport during normal (non rush hour) traffic. Distance to Seattle Downtown:46.0 mi (about 1 hour 4 mins with no traffic, like 1 hour and a half with ttraffic) Reverse directions 1.1.Head west from Harborview Dr - go 0.1 mi 2.2.Turn left at Pioneer Way - go 0.8 mi 3.3.Turn right into the WA-16 E entry ramp to Tacoma - go 0.1 mi 4.4.Bear right onto the WA-16 E ramp - go 9.7 mi 5.5.Take the I-5 N ramp to Seattle - go 34 mi ... 6.6.Take the Olive Way exit 166 - go 0.2 mi 7.7.Bear right at E Olive Way - go 0.2 mi 8.8.Turn left at E Denny Way - go 0.2 mi 9.9.Continue on Denny Way - go 0.1 mi 10.10.Turn left at Stewart St - go 126 ft 11.11.Turn left at Yale Ave - go 0.1 mi 12.12.Take the I-5 S ramp - go 0.5 mi 13.13.Take exit 165A to James St. - go 0.1 mi google maps Map quest won't tell you about the traffic, 35 minutes around 2 in the mourning, 1 to 2 hourse in rush hour. |
