I went there a couple summers ago and climbed Mount Ranier. It was cool. The summer before that I went and we went jet skiing in Puget Sound. Yes, it actually stayed nice long enough for us to enjoy the sun and it was hot too. Here's a source for hiking trails: http://www.nwsource.com/outdoors/hiking/... Also check out these sites for general touristy info: http://www.cityofseattle.net/html/visito... or http://www.visitseattle.org/visitors/... or http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/html/visitor... or http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/visitorsgu... Enjoy the beauty of the state. It has LOTS to offer. I've lived in the Tacoma/Seattle area for 21 years. snowboarding at Snoqualmie is the first thing i'd do and if you cant get enough and love a good scenic drive head for vancouver and ski lift your way to the top at Grosse Mountain to do some more snowboarding! hahaha!! Good thing you love the outdoors! You're moving to the right place. Paintballing is pretty popular around here - I don't do it myself but I don't think you should have a problem finding people to play with you. For cool things - what our family likes: - A trip to the SAM (Seattle Art Museum) and Pike Place Market every now and then - Weekends around Lake Quinault, in the Olympic rain forest (beautiful!) - Hikes around Mt. Rainer - Hurricane Ridge - another beautiful hike - Anthony's Homeport in Seattle - if you're in the area, you need to eat here! So good.... it's seafood. - For a summer vacation - camping around Lake Chelan or Lake Entiat, just east of the mountains. It's hot and the swimming is great and beautiful - there's fishing, too Good luck on the move! I grew up north of Seattle and loved it. |
