Travel Tips
I am from the south and I thought they would be stuck up as southerners warned me. I was surprise because they (northerners) are very nice. I hope this help you.

Good Luck!

I'm from Oregon and I think they are great! I am coming to visit them next month :)
I think they are people.

Like anyone else.

Your point?
Weird but friendly - like the rest of the Pacific NW.
Seattle and it's surround areas are pretty diverse. It's really quite hard to say. In regards the population is still a majority of caucasians, but you have a good amount of asians, hispanics, russians, and african american as well...oh and of course indians (technically asians) due to Microsoft being right in Redmond. No one get offended as I generalize, but the question itself is so general it's the only way I can answer it. You will find more of your snobby rich people in Bellevue and Mercer Island, you will find more drunk annoying college kids in U district outside of downtown seattle and pioneer square on friday and saturday night in downtown seattle. downtown Seattle itself is a good mixture, Capitol hill is known to be the center for homosexuals, and of course like any major city there will be areas of seattle that are known to be a little more "hood"...whitecenter...rainier beach.
But as a whole..the people in Seattle are very nice. Unlike most major cities (i've been to chicago, LA, and NYC). I say the people are a lot nicer than people in general in LA and NYC. I can't blame the way people act in those cities because yes there are a lot of "weirdos" there...Seattle although a major city, is still very clean and tends not to have as many "creepy" people around..so the way people act torwards strangers they tend to be more accepting or open to exchanging a casual "hello" or a simple head nod..where as in other areas (NYC LA) people would give you a funny look or run the other direction. Chicago is somewhat similar (at least downtown felt that way).

Seattle is also a very liberal city, hence why there is a big gay/homosexual community in Seattle..there is ignorance like any place, but I say it's not as much as you would find..in middle states? but of course with that acceptance..comes people who think they are better than others as well..it's really hard to generalize people..especially of an entire city and its surrounding areas consisting of so many cultures, races, and classes. There's good and bad with everything, but as a whole I like the people in the Seattle area.
Seattle people in general are very polite and easy going.
You must love the outdoor life, lot of trails, mountains, lakes as well the islands to find adventure.
Are you planning on moving here?
The people of the Seattle and surrounding areas are down to earth and friendly. Like in any metropolis, you will find the different cultures, which seem to blend together very well up in the pac nor'west..Seattle has a large gay/lesbian community, as well as do Tacoma and Olympia, and Bellingham, which is about 80 miles northwest of Seattle... Personally, I have lived from Bellingham, WA all the way to Shelton, WA and inbetween. There isn't a better group of people than those who really care about their neighbors and their community. I'm curious why you're interested in just the people...can you answer that here?
