Seattle beats long Island in every single category. I have lived in both places. I liked Seattle. Interesting, friendly, progressive people. Beautiful scenery minutes from downtown, A vibrant arts and music scene. Seattle just has a good vibe to it.

Long Island to put it bluntly, sucks. There is no culture, the people are phoney and materialistic. There is no natural beauty at all, (Long lslanders like to believe they have nice beaches but this is only because they have never actually been to a nice beach) Socioeconomically the North shore is all rich snobs and the south shore is mostly blue collars types. Overall there is something very depressing about being on Long Island. Not a nice place at all. I'm a native NYC person and I would move to back Seattle in a minute but you couldn't pay me enough to move to long island.
