Seattle, WA anyone? We are thinking of vacationing there need more info? |
Travel Info My Hubby and I are thinking of going on vacation in Seattle, WA. We are from CT and in our mid 20's and early 30's. We are looking for recommendations on where to stay, eat, visit, and see the sights...We love the skyline of the town and can't wait to see it. What should we do? Anyone have a fave restraunt there? When is the best time to do? Least amount of rain? Mild temps....what do u recommend? THANKS A MILLION! :) Travel Tips Don't worry about being to close to the airport. If your in Seattle you are far enough. Definitely check out the Pike Place Market and watch them throw fish around. Shop at pike place maybe hit one of the many good restaurants right there. Take the monorail to the needle. Go to the EMP (experience music project) the odd looking building you really cant miss (the monorail actually goes right through it, and believe me there is no other building like it in the world). I would go sometime between June-September. If you are baseball fans you will love Safco-field, if you go to game check out the bar that is located INSIDE the left field wall, no other stadium offers a vantage point from that perspective and it really is neat! Make sure you wear a Yankees suck T-shirt even if the Yankees are not playing the locals will love you! Look up Tillicum village on the web I strongly recommend this as a highly romantic evening especially if you are interested in the native American culture it truly is an awesome evening! Others Space Needle!!! Museum of Flight Seattle Art Museum Family Fun Center Bird Watching Super Mall Outlet mall Alderwood Mall There are hundreds of things to do. Take a ferry ride Underground Seattle Museum of Flight Queen Anne Hill Seattle Center Take the monorail downtown and window shop Go down to the piers Restaurants - Fishermans Salty's Quinns Charlies on Broadway Ivars Capitol Hill (for a diverse look) Seattle Aquarium Have fun!!!!!!! If you can swing it, the Edgewater Hotel is BEAUTIFUL...You look out your window and you're on the water! That's a great place to stay, even for just a night :) Food: If you like seafood and you're down on the pier like the other lady suggested I would recommend the Crabpot. You can have the freshest seafood, prepared perfectly: and get this....they dump the food on the table in front of you (first they put bibs on you and cover the table with paper) and you just toss the shells into the bowl on the floor! good drinks too lol. Right up the hill from there (downtown Seattle is all HILLS, bring your gym shoes!) in Belltown are some great sushi restaurants...Wasabi is a great one. If you like diversity, head up to Broadway...you'll find all kinds of different foods to try, another sushi bar Aoki is great, there's Ethiopian, Mexican, Chinese...Pretty much Seattle is the melting pot! Try some of these Sites... http://www.excellent-romantic-vacations.... http://travelwithkids.about.com/od/seatt... No pune intended but you have to try Dick's Drivin Restraunt. Dick's Drive-In Restaurant www.insiderpages.com 111 NE 45th St, Seattle, 98105 - (206) 632-5125 This is the one that is easiest to find.. As for food, just walk along the board walk and try all those places. If you are into Italian you have to go to Buca DeBepo its downtown right near the space needle and the food is amazing. It is a little spendy though. As far as places to stay the airport is not near Seattle, roughly 20 mins so you are going to want to stay downtown. I would google it myself, sorry I cant think of any hotels in your price range off the top of my head. Good Luck! Not sure when you are coming but the last weekend of July there is a HUGE parade that is way worth seeing that runs through downtown! |
