Medium sized town inbetween Seattle/Spokane? |
Travel Info Hi - I'm going to Seattle on vacation and I'll be going to a concert in Quincy, WA (middle of nowhere!) and I need to stay overnight somewhere ... but I want to stay overnight somewhere like - in the middle of Quincy, WA and Seattle... are there any decently sized towns (not tiny towns - like a medium sized town) thats inbetween where I can easily find a hotel? Travel Tips By far the best city would be Ellensburg. Between Spokane and Seattle, Ellensburn and Moses Lake are the only two cities with any size. And Moses lake is east of Quincy (toward Spokane). So you will want to stay in Ellensburg. It is a good size town with a university and plenty of places to stay. I should be less then an hour from Quincy and about 1.5 hours from Seattle. Others You might check Roslyn, WA; they have a couple of small hotels, and even though it's a tiny town, it's a bit of a tourist attraction, as it's the site where "Northern Exposure" was filmed in the early 90s. There's also Cle Elum (near Roslyn), and Issaquah, a bit further west. Ellensburg is your best bet, they have quite a few hotels right off the highway, its a college town. It is a little over half to the west of Quincy. Moses Lake is half an hour away also but to the east of Quincy, they have a bunch of hotels too, but it also smells funny there. Neither Ellensburg or Moses Lake is that big, but they are bigger than Quincy or George. Try Moses Lake (actually on the other side of Quincy, not in between Quincy and Seattle) or Ellensburg... |
