Travel Info I am going to explore the area this weekend. Travel Tips Unless you already have a job lined up in the Seattle area, or another pressing reason to live within the Seattle metro area, I would recommend a small city about 90 minutes north of Seattle. Bellingham, Wa. is a small city of about 100,000 population located 75 miles north of Seattle, 20 miles south of the US/CAN border, and 55 miles south of Vancouver, B.C. Besides having all the amenities itself ... shopping, cultural events, museums, etc. ... it is only a short drive on the freeway to Seattle or Vancouver.
