More Seattle questions... Apartment living- I need some specific things in an apartment if I move there...?

Travel Info
We need an apartment with 1 or more bedrooms, 1 bathroom, dogs allowed, good/safe neighborhood, maximum price $1300/month. 3 people will be living there, and we're thinking of moving in late June. It also needs to be within pretty close proximity to the city... as in on the bus routes, not too much of a drive.

Any advice will help, we need it REALLY BADLY.

Also, I'm trying to talk my mother into moving with me, but she's pretty stubborn... how can I convince her?

THANK YOU!

Travel Tips
Look in the neighborhood called "Eastlake" on the east side of Lake Union. It is just north of downtown and is the major bus corridor between downtown and UW so there are buses running through the neighborhood every 20 minutes or so. It is a very safe, quiet neighborhood with nice restaurants and shops and an apartment there should be within your price range. Seattle is very dog-friendly so you shouldn't have a problem finding a place that will accept your four-legged roommate, but you may have to pay an additional deposit. BTW, Eastlake is quiet 364 days a year; on July 4th it becomes PARTY CENTRAL as the best fireworks show you will EVER see takes place over Lake Union every year.

Others
Actually there are many good neighborhoods that you would be able to rent within that price. Queen Anne both the north and south slope are great places. The bus service is great (I use it). What you might want to do is look on Craigs list. That way you can get an idea of what is available and whether pets are allowed. Good luck and welcome to Seattle.
As far as convincing your mother, you might let her know that you can live in the city for that price and there are many activities she might enjoy doing. She can easily hop the bus to downtown and the Pike Place Market. Or catch a ferry to some of the islands. The ocean is only about 1 and 1/2 hours away and the mountains are even closer.
