What is washington state like? |
Travel Info What is washington state like? Travel Tips Washington is a very beautiful and interesting state! Washington has two very different types of land. East of the mountain's is completely desert while west is a Wet climate with lushes trees and forests. Washington is known for two main mountain/volcano's. MT. St. Helen's and MT. Rainier. St. Helen's is in the southern part of the state and Rainier in the middle. MT. Rainier National park is full of backpacking trails and nature hikes that can be enjoyed year round. Sightings of occasional bear and elk are common! The Pacific Ocean right off Seattle is a beautiful sight. Seattle and Washington has all there is to offer. Mountain's, Ocean and forest's! What more could someone ask for. The community that Love's in Washington is very diverse, you can find almost any race here. That's what makes living so nice because people are not raciest at all! The skiing is amazing at Crystal Pass and Steven's Pass and I have heard Mt. Baker is very good too! Seattle has all there is to offer for a city. There is a dating scene, entertainment and outdoor activities. The only downfall to the Seattle area is the sky rocketing house market which makes houses very pricey! The climate year round is very livable. Although it does rain quite often, when it is sunny it takes your breath away. The winter's usually get no colder than 32 and the summer's no warmer than 90 which makes it an enjoyable place to live. Hope this helps! Others Lots of hills, mountains, wide open spaces, rivers, lakes, no state income tax, a lot of espresso shacks/houses... Don't forget prisons, nuclear reservations, inbreeding and excessive local/state corruption... Its a big state. There's open shoreline, sheltered seashore, lots of islands, mountains, desert, river valleys, temperate rain forest, dry plateaus, you name it. Depends where you are. lots to see and do mountains lakes Starbucks not as as good as CANADA Washington is very diverse. The Olympic Peninsula in the NW is mountainous with a rugged coastline, is sparsely populated, and has a large national park. Seattle is a beautiful large city with lots of coffee shops, a great oceanside market, and good people. Its home to Boeing, Microsoft, and Starbucks. Between the peninsula and Seattle is the ocean and the popular San Juan Islands. The green and wet coast is separated from eastern Washington by a mountain range with many 10,000+ foot peaks such as Ranier, Glacier, Baker, and St. Helens. The east side of the mountains is a dry semi-arid area with the impressive Columbia River. Decent sized town like Yakima and Wenatchee create interesting stops through the extensive irrigated agricultural fields and the almost desert like unirrigated landscapes. As you head east it greens up again with pine trees and hills (want-to-be mountains). Spokane is a nice town and refers to itself as the capital of the Inland Empire (eastern Washington and northern Idaho). Places and events to visit ... Seattle waterfront, north Cascade Mtns, Mount St. Helens volcano, Olympic National Park, the San Juan Islands, Grand Coulee Dam, Omak Stampede, Winthrop, Leavenworth, and Spokane's riverfront park. Very, Very, Very nice.. especially during summer!!! washington state is THE greatest. usually it rains, and when it's summer it gets pretty humid. but it's the kind of heat that you can stand. you mostly get used to the rain. just remember to bring a coat and umbrella! actually it doesn't rain as much there as people think. it's really really green! |
